IOF's World Ranking 2009

Hubmann and Niggli will enter the new year as nr.1 in the world. Switzerland's men and Sweden's women ended the year on the top of the Federations League.

After the last World Ranking Event (last saturday's the middle distance in Sylvester, Belgium), there weren't any big changes in the World Ranking: Daniel Hubmann and Simone Niggli will enter the new year with the "Current nr.1 in the world" - titles.

Another interesting statistics is the Federation League standings: the results of the 20 best runners from each country are used to determine the best federation in the world. The Swiss men and the Swedish women managed to get the first prices with good margins.

The high score this year belongs to Anne Margrethe Hausken, with her two first places in Knut Valstads Minneløp in Norway. She gained respectively 1432 and 1414 points. Matthias Merz has the high score among the men, with his 1376 points during Portugal O-meeting last february.
