Eva Jurenikova - O-Coach of the Year in Sweden

Skogsportens Gynnare

The Swedish organisation "Skogsportens Gynnare" rewarded many Swedish talents and clubs with totaly 20 000 euro. The Czech O-star Jurenikova, who also works as a coach in IFK Mora, received the "Coach of the Year" award.

Eva Jurenikova received the “Coach of the Year” award in Sweden. The 30 years old Czech national team member, who also runs for Domnarvets GoIF, has been working as a coach in IFK Mora during the past three years.

“I’m working both with O-technique and physical training”, Jurenikova explains. She was really close to the medals during this year’s WOC, but mistake in the end took her to the 9th place in the long distance.

The prize is awarded by “Skogsportens Gynnare” – organization with the big goal to support and promote the Swedish orienteering’s development. The goal is reached by collecting money and awarding them to persons, clubs and others. “Gynnarna”, as they call them in Sweden, have 1 700 members and awarded ca. 200 000 Swedish Kronor this year (appr. 20 000 euro).

Young talents
Six of the young Swedish talents received development stipend, among them Tove Alexandersson and Olle Boström. Another four juniors received the “Jörgen Mårtensson international stipend” : T.Alexandersson and Gustav Bergman from Sweden, Ida Bobach from Denmark and the Finnish Olli-Markus Taivainen.
